SMH Haywood & Co is part of the SMH Group, a multi-disciplined professional services company which includes Accounting & Business Advisory, Tax Advisers, Financial Planners and Legal professionals working across eight offices in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Wakefield, Knaresborough and Buxton.
Based in our large Rotherham town centre office, this is an opportunity to join our growing team working alongside highly experienced accountants and other professionals.
Job Purpose:
To provide accounts & audit support to a busy Accountancy Practice.
Duties:
- Preparation of company financial statements
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Preparation of interim management accounts
- Preparation of personal tax returns
- Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
- Forecasts and business projections – not essential
- Able to manger own portfolio of clients
- Train junior members of staff and allocate duties
- Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
- Any other general accountancy/administrative work as required

- Strong record keeping Skills.
Skills and Experience:
- You must have at least 4 years working in an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris, Sage Business Cloud an advantage
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Exceptional Communication Skills with a good telephone manner
- Good written and technical Skills
- Strong Prioritisation and Organisation Skills
- Ability to Handle Confidential Information
- Strong Record Keeping Skills
Qualifications:
- Must be at least studying towards or have studied one of the following AAT/ACA/ACCA.
